Apreciado (a) lector(a),
Sabías que la música ha estado con nosotros desde tiempos inmemorables? Es tanto así que ha sido nuestra compañera en la felicidad, en la tristeza y en el amor. Un gran filósofo, Aristóteles, nos dice que la música imita las emociones, los estados del alma y la pasiòn. Por otro lado, Herman Hesse nos da su opinión de la música aludiendo que “la música es el reflejo del estado espiritual de la sociedad” (Marìn,2017). El dìa de hoy lo invito a escuchar tres fragmentos de tres canciones populares de reggaeton en las que de acuerdo a varias investigaciones estas demuestran violencia de género por el lenguaje que se usa en sus letras.
El objetivo de esta actividad es generar conciencia en el espectador sobre el lenguaje violento que se usa en la mayoría de las canciones de reggaeton hacia la mujer y su influencia en la sociedad. Por otro lado, cabe resaltar que no todos los oyentes son conscientes de los mensajes que estas canciones transmiten ya que es un género que se disfruta más por su ritmo pegajoso.

Did you know that music has been with us since immemorial times? So much so that it has been our companion in happiness, sadness, and love. The great philosopher, Aristotle, tells us that music imitates emotions, states of the soul, and passion. And Herman Hesse gives us his opinion of music, alluding that "music is the reflection of the spiritual state of society" (Marìn, 2017). So that's why today I want to invite you to listen to three short
fragments of three popular reggaeton songs in which, according to several investigations, they demonstrate gender violence due to the language used in their lyrics.
The aim of this activity is to raise awareness of the violent language used in most reggaeton songs towards women and its influence on society. On the other hand, it should be noted that not all listeners are aware of the messages that these songs convey since it is a genre that is enjoyed more for its catchy rhythm.

En este segmento encontrará un video con pequeños fragmentos de tres canciones de reggaeton. Lo que tendrá que hacer es escuchar e identificar aquellas palabras y mensajes que considere que demuestran algún tipo de violencia y/o se refieran a alguien de forma negativa.
In this segment, you will find a video with small fragments of three reggaeton songs. What you will have to do is listen to it and identify those words and messages that you feel demonstrate some kind of violence and/or refer to someone in a negative way.

Después de haber identificado aquellas palabras y/o frases, lo invitó a escribir una pequeña reflexión en donde pueda expresar alternativas que puedan reducir la violencia de género en el reggaeton y promover un lenguaje con menos violencia.
